Create a quick poll

  1. Go to Create a poll (header button). If you’re not signed in, your draft is kept while you sign up.
  2. Type the Question and at least two Options. You can add an image, Let people choose more than one or Add an “Other” option with a text box, and set a close time.
  3. In Who can see what, organisation editors can pick Post as to publish for the organisation. Then choose:
    • Show results to voters: voters see totals, never individual answers.
    • List in Explore: public listing and search (verified email required).
    • Strict: one vote per signed-in account: stronger than the default one vote per browser.
  4. Check the preview, then publish. Your poll is live shows the share link, QR code and embed code.

Create a survey

  1. Go to New survey. If you belong to an organisation, pick it in Create in workspace.
  2. Start one of three ways: ✦ Draft with AI (describe your goal and audience), a template from Or start from a template, or from scratch. Nothing is published until you choose to.
  3. In the builder, fill in Details: Title, Why you’re asking (builds trust), an optional cover image, welcome screen, Thank-you message and Estimated minutes.
  4. Add questions with New question type: single or multiple choice, short or long text, rating scale, number, email, phone, date, NPS (0–10), ranking, grid (matrix) or file upload.
  5. Drag a question, option or grid row by its grip to reorder it (or use the arrow buttons). Rules that would no longer fit the new order are removed and you're told about them.
  6. Optional: use Show this question only if for skip logic — Add another condition combines several with all (AND) or any (OR). + Insert an earlier answer… pipes a previous answer into the question text, e.g. “Why did you choose [your answer]?”. Use Start a new page here for multi-page surveys, and Languages to offer the survey in any of 21 languages — including Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, French and Bengali — with ✦ Translate with AI (have a fluent speaker review it). Polls can be translated the same way.
  7. Set Privacy & access (next section), check the Mobile and Desktop previews, then select Publish. Changes save automatically.

Privacy & access settings

Privacy and access settings
SettingOptionsGuidance
VisibilityPublic · Unlisted · PrivateUse Private for internal or sensitive surveys; results then stay inside the workspace.
Who sees resultsYour workspace · Respondents tooRespondents only ever see totals and charts, never individual or text answers.
Response modeAnonymous · IdentifiedIdentified records who answered (sign-in required). It can’t change once responses exist.
Who can respondAnyone with link · Access code · Invite onlyInvite only gives each person a single-use link: best for staff and member surveys.
One response perBrowser · Signed-in account · No limitNo limit suits kiosks and shared devices.
Opens / ClosesDatesThe survey opens and closes automatically.
RemindersEvery 2–14 days, up to 3Invite-only surveys: only people who haven’t responded are reminded.
Collect only what you need. Avoid asking for names or contact details unless your purpose requires them, and say why in “Why you’re asking”.

Publish, share & invite

  • Share: after publishing, the survey page shows Share your link with the link, QR code and Embed code for your website.
  • Invite: for invite-only surveys, use Invite participants on the survey page. Paste email addresses, send now or schedule.
  • Restrict internally: limit which colleagues can see it with Who in your team can see this (see Roles & permissions).

Change, pause & close

  • Versions: publishing locks a version. Later edits stay unpublished until you choose Publish changes, and existing responses keep the version they answered. You can filter results by version.
  • Lifecycle: Pause / Resume stop and restart responses; Close ends the survey (and sends you a summary email); Archive hides it from lists; Restore brings it back; Duplicate makes an editable copy.

Teams, WhatsApp & API

Once an admin connects Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp in Team & settings → Integrations, members create polls by message, e.g. poll Lunch on Friday? | Pizza | Sushi | Salad, and use results, close and list. Developers can create surveys with a write API key. See Integrations & API.

Content rules

Polls and surveys are checked when you publish. Some links, link shorteners and blocked terms aren’t allowed in public content. If publishing is refused, the message points to what to change. Follow the community guidelines. Reported content is reviewed by Quibzy moderators.
